Biometrics Collection Now Available in 50+ Countries
Australian Border Force has announced a major expansion of its biometrics collection network, with services now available in over 50 countries worldwide. This expansion significantly improves accessibility for visa applicants who need to provide biometric data.
Biometric collection centers have been established in new locations across Asia, Africa, and South America, reducing the need for applicants to travel long distances to provide fingerprints and photographs. The expansion includes both metropolitan and regional collection points.
The new centers utilize the latest biometric technology, ensuring accurate and secure capture of applicant data. The process typically takes less than 15 minutes and can be completed at the applicant's convenience after booking an appointment online.
For many visa applicants, particularly those in regional or remote areas, the expansion eliminates a significant barrier in the application process. Previously, some applicants had to travel to neighboring countries to access biometric collection services.
The biometric data collected is used to verify identity and conduct security checks as part of the visa application process. All data is stored securely and handled in accordance with Australian privacy laws and international security standards.
Applicants are advised to complete their biometric collection within 90 days of receiving their biometric collection letter. The online booking system allows applicants to choose convenient appointment times and locations from the expanded network of collection centers.
